social media copywriting / community management


As a new team in the NWSL, ACFC had many exciting updates to share consistently across their social media pages—new player announcements, brand partnerships, recaps on local community work, engagement with other NWSL teams, and more. As the content team’s freelance copywriter and social media manager, I spearheaded all content writing as well as engaging with the community on all of the brand’s social pages.


When San Diego’s new NWSL team launched their logo and crest, ACFC took the opportunity to send out a cheeky congratulations and poke fun at the budding rivalry while still amplifying the San Diego Wave’s announcement.

I wrote this tweet in both English and Spanish to pay homage to both of the cities’ multicultural populations while making a lighthearted joke about the mascots of each respective team. The Spanish portion of the tweet translates to “L.A. can still swim, but San Diego can’t fly.”

The tweet was received well with engagement from supporters of both teams and excitement for the upcoming rivalry.
